Frameless shower screens

Custom made frameless shower screens measured and installed by our expert glaziers specifically for your space.

Frameless shower screens

Our Frameless Shower Screens are the epitome of a sophisticated and modern addition for your bathroom.

Completely customisable to fit your space, they offer a minimalist design that enhances room flow and creates an open, airy feel.

Frameless screens use thicker glass than framed screens because the glass supports itself, so there is no metal frame around the edges, just minimal hardware where the panel meets the wall, floor or ceiling. The result is a bathroom that looks bigger, brighter and easier to clean.

These screens are not only visually appealing but also practical, simplifying cleaning and maintenance.

Frameless shower screen layouts

Every screen is custom made, so the layout follows your bathroom rather than a stock, off-the-shelf size.

Fixed panel

A single 10mm panel, most commonly held in an aluminium U-channel or with wall brackets. No doors to align, so it is the quickest style of frameless shower screen to fit.

Wall-to-wall

Glass spans the full opening with a door in the middle or at one end, sliding to save space or hinged off a fixed panel or the wall.

Corner or L-shaped

The most common layout in existing bathrooms, where the shower sits in a corner. Suits a hinged or sliding door, opening left or right.

Glass, hardware and finishes

Glass

10mm clear toughened safety glass. Also available: narrow reed glass for a ‘fluted’ look, low-iron glass for truer colour, and acid-etched, sandblasted or textured glass for privacy.

Hinges

The hinge carries the full weight of the door every time it opens. We assess the number of hinges required for your door size and never compromise on hinge quality.

Handles

A minimalist pull handle, H-shaped handle, D-shaped pull or even a side or hole cut-out, we can tailor to your bathroom’s décor.

Hardware finishes

Polished chrome, satin or brushed chrome, matte black, brushed nickel, brass and gold. We can work with you to match your frameless shower screen hardware to other bathroom hardware like taps, faucets, shower heads and towel rails.

Bracing

Certain shower configurations may require a glass or rail brace, or a glass corner shelf that doubles as a brace. Discuss options with our expert glaziers.

Fixing

Wall channels cover the full edge of the glass, leave little exposed silicone and resist mould better than brackets alone.

How thick is the glass in a frameless shower screen?

Our frameless shower screens are made in 10mm toughened safety glass. The Building Code of Australia requires Grade A toughened or laminated safety glass of at least 6mm for frameless and semi-frameless screens, and 4mm for framed screens, so 10mm sits well above the minimum.

A frameless screen has no metal frame; the 10mm glass supports itself and is fixed only where it meets the wall, floor or ceiling. A semi-frameless screen keeps a slim frame on the fixed panels with a frameless door, uses 6mm glass and costs less.

Frameless shower screens are usually a little more expensive than framed or semi-frameless screens because of the thicker glass and premium hardware. They are a premium product that adds value to a home. If budget is the priority, our Optima semi-frameless shower screen is the most affordable option that we install.

Choose sliding when the bathroom is tight and a hinged door has no room to swing; our Opto sliding system saves space and glides smoothly. Choose hinged when there is room, because a door that swings can be left open so that the shower can dry out faster to minimise moisture build-up.
