Shower screen glass replacement: one panel or the whole screen
A shattered panel, a door that has dropped or a screen that leaks onto the bathroom floor all need the same thing: a glazier who can replace shower screen glass properly.
We provide shower screen replacement across Melbourne’s western suburbs, replacing single panels, doors and complete screens, made to measure and installed by our expert glaziers.
If one panel has broken and the frame and hardware are sound, we can often replace that panel alone, made to match the existing glass. Where the old screen is leaking, worn out, or your rental property needs a like-for-like swap, a full replacement is the better call.
Repair or replace?
Glass damage means replacement. Toughened safety glass cannot be cut, drilled or altered once it is made, so a chipped or cracked panel is replaced with a new one made to the exact size. If the frame is corroded and the seals have failed as well, a full new screen is usually the best option. We tell you which applies before you commit.
Shower screen repairs: what can be fixed
Shattered or cracked glass
Toughened glass breaks into small fragments and cannot be repaired, so the panel is remade to size and refitted.
Laminated glass cracks in a spider-web pattern but stays in place; it can be replaced.
Doors that have dropped
The hinge carries the full weight of the door every time it opens. When a poor-quality hinge lets go, the door drops and the glass is at risk. We replace the door and fit high quality hinges built to last.
Hardware only
In some instances, particularly for frameless shower screens, we can replace worn hinges, handles or rollers without new glass. However, where hardware keeps failing, a full shower screen replacement is usually the better long-term fix.
Leaks and mould at the seals
Running water wears silicone down over time; once it darkens and traps dirt, it no longer seals and the screen leaks. When a screen is replaced, we fit wall channels where suitable so there is little exposed silicone.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we get most often. Anything else, call (03) 9360 9900 or request a quote online.
Can you replace just one panel of my shower screen?
Often, yes. If the frame and hardware are in good condition, we can remake the broken panel to the exact size and refit it.
Send us a photo of the screen and the damage and we will confirm whether a single-panel replacement will work or a full shower screen replacement is the better option.
Can a cracked shower screen be repaired?
No. Shower screens use toughened safety glass, which cannot be cut, drilled or patched once manufactured, so a cracked or chipped panel is replaced with a new one made to size.
Laminated glass that has cracked is also replaced. The rest of the screen can often be retained.
My shower screen is leaking. Do I need a new one?
Not always. Leaks usually come from silicone that has worn down and no longer seals, or from a door that has dropped on its hinges. We check the frame, seals and glass and tell you whether a repair or a replacement makes sense for your shower screen. We do not offer re-siliconing; where the seals have gone, a new shower screen with wall channels is the lasting fix.
What glass do you use for replacement shower screens?
Grade A safety glass meeting the Building Code and glazing standards: 6mm clear toughened or 6.38mm laminated for framed shower screens, 6mm toughened for semi-frameless shower screens and 10mm toughened for frameless shower screens. We determine the right glass type and thickness for your shower screen style.
Do you replace shower screens in rental properties?
Yes. We proudly work directly with property managers and real estate agents across Melbourne’s west. For rental properties, fully framed shower screens are a good choice because they are robust and sealed on all sides, whereas semi-frameless shower screens are the most popular and budget-friendly.
