Sydenham grew up through the 1990s and 2000s along the Melton Highway and the Calder Freeway, near the Watergardens shopping centre. Its homes are mostly brick veneer with aluminium windows, wide sliding doors to the backyard and ensuite bathrooms with framed shower screens from the original build.
